El problema de nuestro andro y etnocentrismo (de sus dicotomías) es que eleva a categoría de análisis lo que no son sino construcciones sociales características del mundo capitalista contemporáneo, pero no son categorías de análisis. No es que el trabajo doméstico no sea social, claro que es trabajo social porque cubre necesidades de carácter social; otra cosa es que la ideología capitalista del trabajo invisibilice su carácter social porque así se ahorra los costes de la producción de la fuerza de trabajo, los costes del proceso de cuidados de los otros, …etc. Tanto en lo doméstico-privado como en lo público se producen y reproducen cosas; ni la reproducción social está limitada al ámbito de lo doméstico (en una empresa se reproducen jerarquías, valores, símbolos…) como la producción social no está limitada al ámbito de lo público.
Procesos productivos y reproductivos articulan todas las áreas toda la vida social; por tanto no tiene sentido seguir reproduciendo estas construcciones como conceptos analíticos porque están oscureciendo el análisis de la realidad.
Tanto en el ámbito de la familia como en el ámbito del empleo, del mercado se producen procesos de producción y reproducción que están imbricados en la lógica que rige el funcionamiento de lo social.
